Watch for the Reopening of the Church Library
I'm sure most everyone knows by now that the church library is in a brand new room. It is now across the hall from where it used to be. As soon as the books are unpacked and back on the shelves, the books, cds videos, and dvds will be ready for you to check out. It will be really great to have a new room created pretty much just for the library.
Because we have accumulated far too many books to fit in the library, we have had to discard quite a few. These books have been removed from the shelves for various reasons. Some show wear or yellowed pages, some are duplicates, and some were not of enough interest to ever be checked out. For whatever reason, they are still good and probably will be of interest to someone. These gently used books can become your very own if you'll come to our adopt-a-book event. We intend to have the books displayed on a table for you to look through. They'll be free unless you want to put a small donation (change) into the basket which will be on the table. Please take time to look and select several.
I want to thank all of the people who have donated books over the years. You've been very generous and have given some wonderful books. Because of space we are only able to accept books that others will want to read. That's hard to define, but if it's a book you read and enjoyed and felt it helped you in some way, then probably others would be interested in it. It's just a matter of being selective because we're short of space. Thank you for understanding. Please wait though until the library is up and running before you donate more books.
If anyone has a rack that hold videos, cds, or dvds that you are no longer using, the library could. We've got lots of movies that I would like to display so everyone can see what we have.
Thank you so much for all your help in the past for keeping the library going, and I look forward to meeting you in the library. Watch for it's grand opening!
